Sculptural design made from found and rediscovered materials.
Robert works with materials that have “come his way” or been given to him, using them as source material.
He creates not in spite of abundance—but from it.
“Out of Plenty” is not a motto, but an attitude, a practice, a promise.
What deserves transformation? What deserves a second life?
New meaning can emerge from excess.
The concept invites us to critically reflect on abundance and playfully use it as a resource.
The objects are on display in the studio for discussion.
Also on public display for the first time is the historically restored SAFFA chair by Erika Schläpfer-Thöne from 1958.
As part of the presentation, unique one-of-a-kind pieces and selected prototypes will be available for purchase.
In short: A visit to Robert Wettstein’s studio offers insights into his current work and, for the first time, showcases a significant exhibit of historical design interest.

An EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) packaging system is a type of packaging material that is made of lightweight material. It is commonly used for the packaging of fragile and sensitive items such as electronics, medical supplies, and food products.
But once unpacked, it suddenly becomes unnecessary.
