From March 13 to April 12, 2026, Urban Waters will present performances, workshops, readings, concerts, and art installations in the open air on the banks of the Limmat River at GZ Wipkingen. This public art festival inspires visitors to reflect on and experience the ecological, social, and cultural significance of water.
The project “Whispering Sediments” by Susanne Marti & Robert Wettstein invites visitors to immerse themselves in a fascinating underwater world where everyday objects become floating sediments of our time. Digital film sequences show how seemingly mundane objects unfold a new magic in the water: cups, keys, toys, and other items are transformed into weightless witnesses of our everyday lives.
The installation plays with the magic of the hidden and the fascination of discovery. What do these artificial sediments tell us about our generation? What stories do they whisper in the water?
Between wonder and reflection, a space opens up in which everyone is invited to experience the beauty and complexity of our traces in the water.
