Topography imaginary by Robert A. Wettstein Project Description:

The second hand of the Swiss railway clock, precise Swiss maps and old wooden boards are Robert Wettstein’s sources of inspiration for the wooden cutlery presented. The wooden boards of old barns, drawn by the sun, wind and weather, show a pattern reminiscent of the contour lines of maps. The famous red second hand with the round end disc has crept in during product development and manifests itself in the shape of the trowel. To emphasize the wood grain as a pattern, the finished trowel is carefully tanned with sun (fire) and treated with wind and weather (brush), leaving only the hard blackened wood grain. The coloring is acheived with natural water color. The pattern drawn by nature is therefore always new and can show an imaginary topography of the whole world.

Topography imaginary, wooden cutlery (2020) Material: Flamed ash wood, brushed and colored by hand. Size: 37.5 cm x 7.5 cm. Manufacturer: Studio Production.
